What this site shows

This personal site walks through my analysis of Yahoo’s homepage and proposes a redesign built around focus, balance, and readability. It also documents design decisions so you can see how I think through user experience problems.

Problems I found

  • Heavy clutter around the edges and too many competing elements.
  • No clear direction for the user’s eyes or actions.
  • Bland color choices and limited visual hierarchy.
  • Unbalanced layout, inconsistent fonts, and box overload.

Goals for my redesign

  • Reduce visual noise and highlight the main story.
  • Use color and spacing intentionally, not randomly.
  • Give Yahoo a modern, focused look that still feels familiar.
  • Create a structure that scales well to different screen sizes.
